Frankie Roberts is a jeweller and designer based in North London. In the decade since her apprenticeship as a Lapidary at Holt’s London Frankie has honed her skills in the Hatton Garden jewellery industry.
Her own work is an expression of the things Frankie loves and surrounds herself with; the weird beauty of the natural world, fashion and costume, the subversive and surreal. Her collections are crafted from precious metals and unique stones and all are imbued with story, wit and a love for natural forms.
All the pieces are designed and hand made in her studio. Working against the tide of fast-fashion, these pieces are made to last, following the tradition of jewellery as heirloom.
CHELA
Chela is the debut collection from Frankie Roberts Jewellery.
Chela is latin for claw and this collection pays homage to the crabs and crustacea that Frankie has spent years watching and collecting on the beaches near her family home in Scotland.
Crabs represent what is ancient and adaptable, ugly and beautiful, delicate and strong.
Chela becomes part of your body, wearable art.
